FAMES is a Seattle based band working in sound, echo, and release. Their music is shaped by lived experience and guided by feeling over polish, restraint over spectacle. Rooted in the myth of Fama, the ancient force of voice and rumor, FAMES embraces what happens once a song leaves its source. It travels, fractures, gathers meaning, and belongs to the world. The work lives in the space between truth and distortion, light and shadow, made honestly, released without explanation, and trusted to carry itself forward.

About FAMES
FAMES formed in 2024 in the Pacific Northwest, where long stretches of rain, dense evergreens, and looming mountains shape both the pace of life and the music that comes out of it. Rooted in Seattle’s live scene, the band’s sound carries a sense of patience and weathered warmth.
The band is led by frontman Colby Jackson, a songwriter whose work feels less written than discovered. Drawing from lived experience and a grounded connection to the natural world, Colby’s songs arrive intuitively, appearing fully formed when the timing is right. His writing reflects presence, restraint, and a deep trust in the process.
On guitar, Nate Madera brings a wide-ranging musical fluency as a lead guitarist, multi-instrumentalist, and producer. Moving between guitar, mandolin, piano, keys, and vocals, Nate plays in service of the song, shaping immersive soundscapes with precision and emotional clarity. His approach blends blues and psychedelic rock with indie and Americana influences, favoring melodic leads that linger rather than overwhelm.
Haydn Gilman anchors the band on bass, carrying a strong DIY ethic and a deep connection to Seattle’s music community. A multi-instrumentalist and vocalist involved in projects spanning folk-punk, progressive rock, and post-metal, Haydn is an active presence in the local scene, hosting open mics, organizing and volunteering at DIY shows, and helping build the spaces that keep the community moving.
On drums, Carlos Fresnillo provides a steady, intentional foundation. His playing is dynamic yet grounded, guided by feel, restraint, and an instinct for when to push and when to leave space. Carlos’ drumming gives the songs momentum without rushing them, allowing each track to unfold naturally.
Since forming, FAMES have been steadily carving out their place in Seattle’s live circuit, building a reputation for emotionally grounded performances and a sound shaped as much by place as by people; music born under rain clouds, held together by community, and built to last.
